Domum (50% Individual)
Our final assignment pushed us to use the skills we learnt from Assignments 1 and 2 into creating drawings in the "real" construction industry. This assignment encouraged our understanding of the 3 main views to express 3-dimensional spaces through 2-dimensional orthographic drawings.
Introduction
We were taught how to scout for a site to propose, and to choose a layout that would best fit our intended design. We were also asked to create a title block, materials and pieces of furniture for the interior design of our "micro-house".
Exterior Planning
After a later start, I started off by planning the site I wanted the house to be built on and the possible designs I had in mind for it
Interior Planning
After finalizing the exterior with Mr Akmal, I started planning the interior.
With all my basic measurements in place, I started by looking at the amount of space I had, going room by room and picking out furniture that would fit as well as setting a base theme for the house.
Task 2
For the second part, we were expected to produce 7 drawings to visualize and communicate our design. These drawings included:
- 1 Site plan
- 1 Floor plan
- 2 Elevations (longitudinal and horizontal)
- 1 Section
- 2 Detail drawings
